there’s been kind of a mixed bag of stuff going on the last week. there was cake in the office many days in a row. I got some good news at work. I lucked into a free 4th row seat for the Hip concert on Tuesday. I got a free shirt. I wooed my lovely fiancée on our date night. we had a week straight of above zero weather.

counterpoint to that is several nights of crap sleep last week. three days solid of staring at boxes in Excel all goddamn day. having to stay late on Friday to finish three days of staring at Excel all goddamn day. getting shafted out of birthday plans. having a blizzard come through last night and kicking the warm weather out of here. the Leafs winning their season opener.

also, I’m not sure where I’d slot this one, but watching Cory Schneider just completely drop the ball as the starting netminder for the Canucks opener. It sucks that the canucks lost to a team spawned out of a Disney franchise, but I also have a little sense of glee that I was right that if they started Schneider they’d get their ass kicked.

I have a bit of catching up to do for the Hip show. I have two albums I need to learn in a few days. which is ok, since I’ve had them on repeat for the last couple. except Friday night, I had Headstones on repeat because that just seemed more fitting after staying late at work.

I’ve been looking at places to go backpacking in June. I’m kind of stuck on Dunn Peak Protected Area east of Barriere.
