I did about 7 hours straight of yard work yesterday. my place doesn’t have a yard, but aimée’s place does and since I’m not going to renew the lease on my place, I’ll do yard work here. if you grew up in the suburbs and had to put up with spring yard work and your mom incessantly asking to weed this and plant that, you get a little annoyed at it. what kid wants to weed when they could be going to get a slurpee and trying to see which of their friends can get the most air on their bike off a speed bump? about four feet. of course, that speed bump just happened to be right at the bottom of a hill, so gravity assist.

here’s what I did… took out two bushes, put up netting and planted three clematises (clemati?), finished potting the flowers/vines that were left to be planted, broke down all the deadfall we’d cleared last week and put it in the fire pile, cleaned out the fire pit, played ball with the dog, cleared a patch of brush at the side of the yard, raked at the front of the house, cleaned up a cedar bush, and weeded a bit.

since I have to be in edmonton for the next two and a half days, I packed up as much gear as I could on Friday for Fubar and backpacking. basically, all we have left to do is make bacon burgers, buy food, decide on booze, load it into the car and head out on thursday morning.

three and half pounds of ground bacon is sitting in the fridge right now, just waiting to be formed into delicious burger patties. and this isn’t slices that were ground up, oh no, this was an entire slab of meat they ground up. they’re gonna be legen…wait for it…
