i bought the new Russell Peters dvd and I fully intended to watch it when I got up this morning, but then I turned on the tv and did a quick channel surf. so, yeah, there’s a show on History about going through the Earth layer by layer and all nerdy and geological and stuff. and since I’m kind of a sucker for geology, well, Russell gets to wait.

right now it’s talking about a hotel room built in an old mine in europe. As much as I enjoy walking through caves and going on mine tours, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want to sleep in a hotel room that’s basically a hollowed out room 500 feet under the surface. pretty sure I’d be very aware of the very large amount of rock hanging over me that would basically turn me into goo if it decided to fall on me. not so much fun.

we’re testing out a roomba. it’s sitting right over there charging. I’m not supposed to try it with Bernard in the house because he’ll probably freak out. and when I say we’re testing out a roomba, I mean, we get to wait until bernard is somewhere else and then turn it on to see how it works. because otherwise it would seem like we’ve already turned it on. not the case.

i feel like I’m rambling. I know that I ramble on here a lot… well, maybe not a lot any more, but in the heyday of my blogging I was good at it. I feel like I’m out of practice.

tonight we have a double header derby game. first actual game(s) I’ll have reffed in about two or three months. I think tonight might be the last kick at the cat for me. I’m just not feeling it anymore. don’t get me wrong, I like derby, it’s fun, it’s challenging, but it’s also hard to be a part of if you find yourself in any sort of organizational capacity. there are politics, arguments, egos… all that adds up to turn it sour pretty quick. it’s not really something I need or want to put up with anymore.

I enjoy the fact that I now have a fire pit. hard to argue with that. especially when you get home and feel like making a towering inferno that can make you start to sweat when you’re standing 20 feet away. though, sometimes when you do that it makes you want to yell lines from Lord of the Rings. not sure why, but it does. yes, I do realize how much of a nerd that makes me.

I suppose I should have some breakfast.

today I’ll see how many people I can get to ask “what, are you joining the army?” after I got a haircut yesterday. yesterday stands at three people. whatever, it’s short. I don’t have to get another haircut for three months now. that just means my head will be cooler when I’m in Vegas.
